Our History

For over 30 years, Ransom has been a trusted engineering and environmental leader collaborating with commercial, governmental and industrial partners. Ransom Consulting was founded in 1988 by Steve Ransom with the concept of delivering extraordinary service to each and every client. In fact, our first client remains a client today! 

Over the years, Ransom Consulting has been recognized and honored as one of the leading environmental and engineering firms in the Eastern US. Inc. Magazine named Ransom one of the fastest growing companies in the US within its first five years. Most recently, Ransom’s work is included in the 2020 Maine AIA Design Awards. 

We are known for our integrity and loyalty; building strong long-term partnerships and growing with our clients by providing responsive services and value-added solutions. We are constantly innovating to provide sustainable and resilient solutions for our projects, our partners and the planet. 

To date, our Ransom team has completed more than 6,000 projects across the US with broad-ranging clients including federal, state and municipal governments; real estate and commercial developers; utility and power companies; and industrial companies.
