Senior Civil Engineer

Job Description

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Sr. Civil Engineer with 8-10 years of experience to join our civil practice. Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and overseeing detailed civil engineering design that includes civil/site, environmental (brownfields redevelopment), roadway, drainage, stormwater management, utility design and coordination.
  • Generating professional plans, specifications, technical calculations, exhibits, and reports.
  • Performing material quantity take-offs and producing engineer’s construction cost estimates.
  • Coordinating with several design disciplines and subcontractors as needed to complete project deliverables.
  • Mentor junior staff and assist project managers with project staff resourcing.
  • Attending and leading project team and client meetings.
  • Supporting the development and management of project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
  • Conducting site observations, existing conditions backchecking, and written field reports.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (Master’s degree a plus)
  • P.E. in Maine or the ability to obtain through reciprocity (P.E. in both ME and NH a plus)
  • Stormwater modeling experience (HydroCAD, StormCAD) with Green Infrastructure capabilities.
  • Working knowledge of local and state permitting requirements.
  • Effective client management ability with a desire to expand into new business development.
  • Proficiency in using Autodesk products, specifically Civil3D and related software packages.
  • Ability to work both independently as well as in a team environment and effectively communicate and collaborate at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in urban roadway design (Accessibility, Complete Streets, Healthy Transportation Policy, Traffic Calming Measures, Multi-Use Paths) is a plus.
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER training is a plus.
