(For Immediate Release) April 4, 2021, Providence, Rhode Island: Joseph R. Taormina (JR), P.E. has been named Ransom’s new Rhode Island Office Manager. Taormina is a Professional Engineer with over 20 years of experience in the environmental industry with P.E. Licenses across New England and the Atlantic region, from Maine to Maryland.
JR’s technical expertise and leadership skills are unmatched in the industry and we are proud to bring him on the Ransom team.
JR’s core competencies include the investigation and remediation of contaminated properties with a focus on redevelopment of historical industrial properties and brownfields. He has a strong remedial background as well that includes remediation system design, operation, and management experience including everything from pump and treat systems; electrical resistance heating systems; and soil vapor extraction systems; in-situ chemical oxidation systems; subsurface depressurization systems; air sweep systems; and conventional soil and sediment excavation, dredging (wet and dry), stabilization, and solidification approaches.
On the compliance side, JR is bringing extensive expertise with regulatory compliance documents such as SPCC plans, SWPPPs, Hazardous Waste Contingency Plans, and permitting.
Formerly at Roux Associates, Taormina was a Principal Engineer and Engineering Department Manager in their New England office. He served as Roux Associates’ Real Estate Development Practice Area Leader and the Industrial Practice Area Leader.
Taormina is a graduate of Cornell University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biological & Environmental Engineering and minors in Civil/Environmental Engineering and Biomedical Engineering.
